Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is the principal administrative body of Local 960. It consists of the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary-Treasurer and
the Recording Secretary. They are elected by the membership by secret ballot vote every two (2) years.

What We Do
The Committee conducts the business of the Local on a daily basis. It makes the decisions and takes the action necessary to protect the work-related interests of the members, all in accordance with the Local's By-laws and the National CUPE Constitution.

The Committee works closely with the rest of the elected positions to ensure that all members' views are heard and their concerns addressed.

She/Her/Hers

I have worked in libraries since 1998 and Oshawa Public Libraries since 2004. In my time here, I've held the positions of Teen Librarian, Readers Advisory Librarian, Branch Supervisor, and Local History and Genealogy Librarian. (my all-time favourite job!)

Growing up, I saw my father standing up for the rights of his fellow workers in his local and folowed in his footsteps, proudly serving Local 960 in various capacities over the years.

I've served on the Social Committee, Bargaining committee, the Joint Job Evaluation Committee and as a Steward.
I'm very happy to now be serving as Vice-President and Chief Steward.

I will continue to build on my skills and knowledge and advocate for the rights of my fellow workers. There is always more to learn!

I began my career at OPL as a student in 1989. I loved working in the Children's Department, and became a full-time staff member in 1997. During my first years as a clerk, I joined the executive as Recording Secretary and then Vice President. In 2004, I took a new position at the Library as the Graphic Designer. This is the job I currently hold, and it's a creative one, fun, and rewarding.

I'm excited to be part of the EC once again, helping our Local be the best we can be!

She/Her/Hers

Oshawa born and raised, my first job at Oshawa Public Libraries was in 1994 at the Jess Hann Branch.  Since then I've worked at every branch - at least for a few days - but prefer to call McLaughlin Branch home (at least for now).

I have served our Union for most of my Library career. I have held the positions of Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Steward, Trustee, and President, and I am a member of the Bargaining Committee.
