Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is the principal administrative body of Local 960. It consists of the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary-Treasurer and
the Recording Secretary. They are elected by the membership by secret ballot vote every two (2) years.

What We Do
The Committee conducts the business of the Local on a daily basis. It makes the decisions and takes the action necessary to protect the work-related interests of the members, all in accordance with the Local's By-laws and the National CUPE Constitution.

The Committee works closely with the rest of the elected positions to ensure that all members' views are heard and their concerns addressed.

She/Her/Hers

I began working at Oshawa Public Libraries in 2012 as the Teen Librarian. My first Union Officer position was in 2013 as a Steward. In 2014 I was elected Vice-President and Chief-Steward, and President shortly after in 2017.

I am the certified Co-Chair of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee, a member of the negotiations team, and a member of the Joint Job Evaluation Committee. I am a member of the CUPE Ontario Library Workers’ Committee and an Executive Board Member of the grassroots organization, We Are Oshawa.

I have always had a passion for standing up for my beliefs and have been actively engaged in the fight for social justice for as long as I can remember. CUPE 960 is my first experience working in a union.

I was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. I Graduated with my MLIS from Western University and moved to Durham to begin my career. I am married to a wonderful partner and together we have two beautiful boys who definitely keep me on my toes.

I love my union work and activism and look forward to continuing to fight the good fight alongside all of you wonderful people.

In Solidarity!

Vice President
She/Her/Hers

I have worked in libraries since 1998 and Oshawa Public Libraries since 2004. In my time here, I've held the positions of Teen Librarian, Readers Advisory Librarian, Branch Supervisor, and Local History and Genealogy Librarian. (my all-time favourite job!)

Growing up, I saw my father standing up for the rights of his fellow workers in his local and folowed in his footsteps, proudly serving Local 960 in various capacities over the years.

I've served on the Social Committee, Bargaining committee, the Joint Job Evaluation Committee and as a Steward.
I'm very happy to now be serving as Vice-President and Chief Steward.

I will continue to build on my skills and knowledge and advocate for the rights of my fellow workers. There is always more to learn!

She/Her/Hers

Oshawa born and raised, my first job at Oshawa Public Libraries was in 1994 at the Jess Hann Branch.  Since then I've worked at every branch - at least for a few days - but prefer to call McLaughlin Branch home (at least for now).

I have served our Union for most of my Library career. I have held the positions of Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Steward, Trustee, and President, and I am a member of the Bargaining Committee.
