Hi everyone! I had the distinct pleasure of being CUPE Local 960's delegate at the first ever national bargaining conference and met to discuss the challenges facing workers today and how we can stand together, reach out to our members, and improve working conditions for all workers (not just CUPE members) in Canada. Please watch this video and share: http://youtu.be/LdhCT7fRI3k That sums up this experience - and you might see a quick familiar face. Other highlights from the conference included a message from young workers (workers under the age of 30). I was picked to speak in front of over 1,000 delegates about the importance of involving and mobilizing young people in the labour movement. Are you a young worker with CUPE? With austerity agendas and the Bill 115 legislation that attacked the teachers' collective agreement, we may have a long haul in front of us but we're prepared to fight for you! Start thinking about what you'd like to see happen in the next round of bargaining. Your 2013-2014 negotiations team is: Dan Harding Tiffany Balducci Andrea Silva Nicole Adams Thanks for your time!
